She has parents named Harvey Welker who is Native American and Julie Welker who is African-American. She is the mother of an agent for real estate, and her father has a degree in engineering. Walker graduated from Germantown Friends School located within Philadelphia's Germantown district in 1994. She then attended Harvard College, where she received a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker is happily married for more than 20 years to John Hughes who is a well known marketing director of Merck Philadelphia. They have two children. The couple began dating. John her husband is more than four years of her life. Since their relationship was well-established, they decided to go to the next step. The 4th of March, 2017, they tied the knot. Philadelphia Pennsylvania hosted their wedding. The ceremony took place in the Hyatt in Philadelphia. Only close friends and family attended the reception.
