Sara Lynn Evans (born February 5, 1971) was the eldest of seven children raised by her parents at their property located in New Franklin Missouri. From the age of five she has enjoyed music. At age 5 when she was five, she began singing each weekend with the band from her family. She began her career at the age of 16 when she performed in an entertainment venue near Columbia Missouri for two years. Sara made the move from Missouri to Nashville Tennessee in 1991 with the intention of becoming a singer-songwriter. Sara did a live version of Tiger By the Tail, one of Harlan Howard's hits in County Q Studios. Harlan Howard determined that Sara should perform his music. The singer became an RCA artist. In 1997 Evans released her first record Three Chords and the Truth. Critics recognized that the album was included in their ranking of the best ten albums of the year. In the late 1970s she was the first feature film actress to make her debut and was in a handful additional French feature films, too. After a few more years, she returned to Hollywood in search of success. She had her greatest Hollywood achievement in Goodfellas in which she was awarded numerous prizes of distinction, including an Academy Award nomination. While she started out in feature films she later was offered opportunities on television series as well and attained excellent success in these.
