Kari Samantha (born April 28 in 1967) Wuhrer is a famous American actor and singer. She began her acting career when she was just a teen. Her most well-known role is for her character Maggie Beckett on the TV show Sliders as well as the character of Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the horror-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was raised at Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble who was employed as a payroll clerk, and German American Andrew Wuhrer. She has 3 siblings. The singer began performing in club nights as a teenager. She would sneak out of her house in order to perform. Kari began acting at the Wooster school at the age of thirteen, and went on to study drama in New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under the renowned Uta Hagen. Kari was introduced to acting at the age of 13, and she got her breakthrough in 1987, when she was featured on MTV Remote Control.
