Lynda Carter

 Carter was born in Phoenix as the daughter Juanita (nee Cordova), and Colby Carter. Her mother comes from Mexico, is Mexican, Spanish and French. She has one brothernamed Vincent and a sister, Pamela. Carter made her public television debut on Lew King's Talent Show at age 5. Carter was a member of Just Us in high school. The group played conga drum and marimba. They also played an acoustic guitar and the stand-up bass that was played by another member of the group. At age 15, Lynda began to sing in the local pizza shop for extra cash. 8. When she turned 16 years old, she joined two of her cousins who were in a band called The Relatives. The drummer for the band was Gary Burghoff, an actor. The group was initially launched at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Carter had to enter the kitchen because she was older than 21. After being called "Most talented" and deciding to leave school and pursue the career of a musician. Carter auditioned in 1970 and was on tour with The Garfin Gathering's bandleader Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first show together was held at the Holiday Inn Chinatown in San Francisco in 1970, which was so brand-new that it did not have a sidewalk entry. They played mostly to hotel staff and guests, who parked their vehicles underground. The Garfin Gathering toured the Nevada "Silver Circuit", playing shows in numerous casinos in the state's lounges between Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas. Carter was forced to leave the Garfin Gathering to pursue acting in 1972 and returned to Arizona.
